Time for Tea

Tea Time is Timeless

I'm not sure about you, but I would definitely call in sick/cancel doctors appointments/reschedule an annual board meeting all in the name of slipping on a party dress and escaping to a sunny afternoon garden tea party. I'm talking about a refreshing lady affair, featuring a Southern-style buffet of refreshing conversation with my home grown childhood friends.

Courtesy of this month's Southern Living Magazine, what sounded like too much work for a quick minute is now finding its way onto my calendar. Their imaginative editors have given us a detailed step-by-step instructional for hosting this luxurious yet elegantly relaxed soiree! All you have to do is set the date!

Starting with Etiquette....

Above: The "Laws of Buffet Feng Shui" (those looming questions have finally been answered!)

Above: Grosgrain Ribbon trimmed cocktail napkins from www.markandgraham.com

(matching monogrammed table runners, placemats, hand towels, dinner napkins available in gorgeous colors and other monogram styles)

Below: Choose a playful, cheerful, and feminine color scheme- like PINK!

Above and Below: Lilly Pulitzer fabrics by Lee Jofa

Above: This bar cart is dreamy and doubles as a bedside table or end table pre/post fete.

Above: Pink Faux Bamboo Bar Cart from CircaWho, Palm Beach (I was not surprised to find out that this was sold out).

BUT- I did find a pretty preppy lime green wicker treasure on Joss & Main- but shop now! These will disappear.

Below: What to wear ~ Lilly Pulitzer is always a staple, but this pink ruffled sundress is irresistible. Pair with a bubble necklace or bright chunky bangles and metallic glitter Jack Rogers.

And if you're lucky enough to be graced with an invitation to such an affairs, please mind your manners. Write a thank you note to the hostess- and drop it in the MAIL!
